Altoona Community Theatre (ACT) is pleased to announce that “Everything’s (still) Coming Up Roses” as they move their production of “Gypsy”, sponsored by M&T Bank, to July 9,10, 11, and 12 at the historic Mishler Theatre.  Under the direction of Bryce Cossitor, the time-honored musical was originally slated to run April 30-May 3; however, the current stay-at-home order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible to continue with those dates.

“Thankfully, ACT has been able to work with the Mishler Theatre to arrange for a Summer performance run, which we hope will be a celebration of our community’s resilience as we emerge from what has been a trying and uncertain time” ACT Executive Director Cindy Stanbro said.  “Altoona Community Theatre has been around for 72 years and we intend to be around for another 72 years. We are grateful to our cast, crew, membership, and our community supporters for their patience as we have worked through this challenge.”

The four performances of “Gypsy” will kick off on Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 pm; Friday and Saturday will also have evening shows at 7:30 pm, and Sunday will feature a matinee at 2 pm. Ticket sales as well as any season ticket rescheduling will be available as soon as possible in conjunction with the Mishler box office when it reopens.

Established in 1948, Altoona Community Theatre’s mission is to foster an appreciation for the arts and provide a creative outlet for community members to express themselves through quality shows and events. For more information about ACT, go to altoonacommunitytheatre.com.
