Tara EnedyAltoona Community Theatre is pleased to announce that Tara Enedy has accepted the organization’s Director of Operations position. Enedy takes over the role formerly held by Cindy Stanbro, who left the area this past summer.

Enedy, a native of Hastings, Minnesota, holds a degree in theatre from Minnesota State University. She worked for L&M Production Design Group in Alexandria, VA, starting as a production coordinator/assistant and eventually becoming an executive producer. Since moving to the area in 2004, Enedy has worked in various roles with several local businesses, including Champion Enterprises, the Summit Tennis & Athletic Club, the U.S. Census Bureau, and most recently, the Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg.

Enedy’s involvement with ACT spans more than 15 years. It includes her work as a volunteer, board member, director, director mentor, stage manager, and actor. Her ties to local business and her history with ACT uniquely qualify her to assume the role of director of operations.

“Through a deliberative and competitive process, Tara arose as our most vibrant, experienced, and forward-thinking candidate. She brings a distinctive passion for the arts, a love of Blair County, and holds an unmistakable desire to lead ACT,” said Jim Watt, president of ACT’s Board of Directors.

Assuming a new professional role with ACT represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream for Enedy. She considers Steve Helsel to be one of her artistic mentors. Helsel served as the organization’s executive director for more than 30 years. He passed away after a brief illness in Nov. 2018.

“I’m thrilled to be taking on this leadership role in an organization I believe in and dearly love,” says Enedy. “I look forward to promoting ACT’s current programs throughout our community, enhancing our membership benefits, and developing new programs to carry us on through these unprecedented times.”

As director of operations, Enedy is responsible for maintaining and managing board and membership relations, managing ACT’s finances, development and fundraising, marketing, and managing the organization’s many programs and productions.

Enedy’s first day in the ACT office will be Monday, Nov. 9.
