Please arrive as close to the start time as possible, as there will be group learning of songs and movement for the audition (more information below.) Auditionees need only attend one night of open auditions. If you are unable to attend general auditions, please contact the ACT Office at least two weeks in advance to discuss scheduling an alternative audition time.

No preparation is required, dress comfortably for movement. Auditionees will:

  • learn a chorus from the show to be performed as a solo and in groups
  • participate in a simple choreography exercise
  • read for various characters from the script.

Actors must be available for all performances (dates listed above). Please note that you  must be available for two day-time performances on a Monday. Rehearsals are expected to begin the week of November 30, and will be held mainly weekday evenings, some weekends as needed (subject to change based on actor availability). Please be prepared to list all conflicts from November 30 through the performance dates.

About the Show:

Featuring a joyful score composed by Altoona native Michael Kooman, this 60-minute underwater musical chronicles the coming-of-age journey of Finn, a young shark who dreams of following in his family’s footsteps by joining the prestigious Shark Guard. As Finn faces the challenges of growing up and following his heart, the musical takes us on a magical journey of self-discovery, friendship and adventure.
